Following a one year foundation course in Art and Design at Oxford Brookes University, Andrea obtained a Bachelor of Arts( Hons) Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from Kingston University in the UK. Whilst working for design studios in London (UK) and Toronto her clients have included The Four Seasons Hotel group, Marks and Spencer, Safeway PLC and Second Cup . Andrea's work has been published in magazines such as Canadian House and Home, Toronto Life, Chatelaine and EnRoute. On moving to Canada in 1991 Andrea continued to work as a freelance designer and illustrator. In 2011, the desire to push her work in a new direction resulted in a return to art college to study textiles at Sheridan College in Oakville. Upon graduating in April 2014 Andrea was awarded the William and Mary Corcoran award as a student of excellence and ‘Best in Show’ at the Sheridan Faculty of Craft and Design Graduate exhibition. In June 2014 Andrea travelled to the USA to receive a First place award for textile print design from the International Textile Market Association. As a member of the Contemporary textile Co-operative, Andrea plans to focus on the production of bespoke printed fabrics for the interior and fashion market whilst promoting her surface designs and continuing in her own studio practice.
