Stamp, stitch and embellish fabrics you bring from your stash in this fun and experimental surface design workshop! Methods of fabric transformations include: mono printing; easy fabric paint print methods; solar dyeing; and stamping with unique replicas of saris.

Day one will provide the surface for further explorations to texturize, embellish and add dimension. Day two includes basic hand and machine embroidery that will turn your two- dimensional surface into an incredible three-dimensional surface. 

There will also be an exchange of fabrics with other students, and you can choose from instructor provided materials.

Leisa Rich is a studio artist and art educator living and working on Howe Island, Ontario, near Kingston. She exhibits internationally. Rich holds an MFA in Fibers, BFA in Fibers, and a BEd in Art. She has been featured in numerous books and is in several collections including Hilton Hotels, Delta Airlines, Emory Healthcare Atlanta, The Dallas Museum of Art, and ProDemnity Insurance.
