Angela McIntosh studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design University, majoring in Sculpture and Installation, with a minor in Material Art and Design (Fibre). Her thesis work focused on the translation and transmutation of digital modes of communication into analogue forms, using traditional practices of felt-making and bronze-casting. Her work is primarily engaged with communicative acts, centring on what binds us rather than what divides. Her material choices reflect this focus. “Contemplating the life-giving nature of the materials we consume provides an anchor to the fact that we are a part of something greater.” Originally from regional Australia, Angela has lived in Toronto since 2010.
